
Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A series of joint police operations by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 3 (CIDG RFU3) and Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) led to the arrest of four suspects involved in a double murder case in Tarlac.
On March 18, 2025, CIDG Tarlac PFU, with support from various police units, arrested Jay Tacubansa y Paras, 41, in Brgy. Care, Tarlac City. Tacubansa is one of the suspects in the killing of Geneva Sarita Lopez and Yitshak Cohen on June 21, 2024, in Brgy. Moriones, San Jose, Tarlac. The victims’ bodies were later found at a quarry site in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac, on July 6, 2024. Following an extensive investigation, Tacubansa and four others were charged with two counts of murder under the Revised Penal Code.
A day earlier, on March 17, 2025, at around 8:40 PM, authorities served Jeffrey Santos y Estrada, 40, and Rommel Abuzo y Medina, 37, with warrants of arrest at BJMP Tarlac City Jail, Brgy. Baras-Baras, Tarlac City. Their warrants were issued by Hon. Sarah Bacolod Vedaña-Delos Santos, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 66, Capas, Tarlac, for murder (Criminal Case No. 10163-25) with no bail recommended.
Another suspect, Michael Angelo Guiang y Barrento, 32, was arrested on March 19, 2025, at 6:00 PM in Brgy. San Francisco, Santa Ignacia, Tarlac. The operation was carried out by Santa Ignacia MPS, PIU Tarlac PPO, and 2nd PMFC Tarlac PPO. Guiang was also arrested for murder under Criminal Case No. 10163-25, with a warrant issued by the same court.
All arrested individuals were informed of their rights and underwent standard booking procedures before being turned over to the issuing courts.
