The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Zambales 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) conducted a coastal cleanup drive along the shorelines of Lipay-Dingin, Iba, and Bancal in Botolan on September 27, as part of the 2024 International Coastal Cleanup Day.
OIC – District Engineer Allan Ladines led the cleanup activity, along with office Section Chiefs, emphasizing the importance of reducing ocean pollution to protect marine biodiversity.
“Participating in this initiative supports marine life and helps minimize water pollution. Everyone should join in safeguarding our oceans and promoting cleaner coastal areas,” Ladines said.
The cleanup effort, established by the Ocean Conservancy with this year’s theme “Clean Seas for Blue Economy,” reflects Zambales 1st DEO’s commitment to serving the public by actively participating in activities that protect nature and raise awareness of ocean and waterway protection while combating marine pollution.
