The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Tarlac 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) carried out the “Gamit Pang-Eskwela Hatid ay Saya” – an annual program of the District Engineers’ League of the Philippines (DELP) – at Manibukyut Primary School in Sitio Manibukyut, Barangay Bueno, Capas on August 9, 2024.
District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos and Assistant District Engineer Aldeltrudes Catanes were joined by Section Chiefs and other office personnel in catering to the needs of 100 indigenous kindergarten through Grade 6 students, demonstrating their dedication to educational support and promoting enthusiasm and a love for learning.
According to Ramos, the district office distributed 100 packs of school supplies, each containing essential items such as white T-shirts, erasers, slippers, pad papers, ball pens, pencils, bags, crayons, and umbrellas—vital for ensuring that students have the necessary materials for their education.
Meanwhile, Manibukyut Principal Sarah Satuk expressed her gratitude for the school supplies received by the students, noting that these are a valuable support for those in need of basic educational materials.
Marcial Salazar, Chieftain of Sitio Manibukyut, also shared his appreciation for the assistance provided by the district office to their learners.
The success of this initiative reflects DPWH Tarlac 2nd DEO’s dedication to positively impacting the lives of students, enhancing educational access, and spreading joy within the indigenous community to nurture a brighter future for the youth.
