TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is pushing for the completion of bypass road projects in Tarlac aimed at easing travel for the public and supporting farmers traveling to markets and commercial areas across the province.

To help accelerate progress, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon led the inspection of bypass roads, including the Estrada Bypass Road in Capas town, to assess on-site conditions and ensure that the projects remain on schedule.

Dizon underscored the importance of securing sufficient funding, noting the importance of these projects as farm-to-market roads.

He added that the bypass roads will help farmers reduce transportation costs and increase their earnings, particularly during the harvest season.

Following the inspection, Dizon also visited the Concepcion-Bamban Bypass Road, which has been delayed for six years due to funding constraints.

To address the delay, the cabinet official has ordered the expedited release of funds to hasten construction and enable the road’s immediate.

Once completed, these bypass roads will significantly benefit farmers, particularly in transporting agricultural products such as rice, corn, and sugarcane.

These infrastructures will also lessen travel time for the public travelling within the areas.

The initiative supports the goal of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to prioritize bypass road development in order to provide faster and more reliable travel routes for the public, especially amid rising fuel costs.
