DPWH conducts tree planting in Tarlac

With the aim of promoting environmental awareness and addressing climate change, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Tarlac 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) organized a tree planting activity in Sitio Baag, Barangay Iba in San Jose on July 5, 2024.

District Engineer Neil Farala and Assistant District Engineer Agnes Jacinto led the event in support of the government’s National Greening Program, during which 500 Narra and Kupang seedlings were planted.

In his statement, Farala emphasized that this initiative contributes to ecological sustainability, preserves nature, mitigates climate change effects, and improves the quality of life for local residents.

“This activity signifies not only our dedication to environmental conservation but also our commitment to taking positive steps towards a greener and healthier environment for our communities. Planting trees play a vital role in restoring damaged forests, combating climate change, and contributing to the global reforestation efforts,” Farala highlighted.

SAMAhan ng mga KAwaning NAgkakaisa (SAMAKANA) President Pacifico Catalan Jr., Tarlac 1st DEO Section Chiefs, and other employees also participated in the event, demonstrating their support in preserving the environment for future generations.

The tree planting activity was made possible through the permit granted by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).#(DPWH TARLAC 1ST DPAIU)
