In support of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) mission to provide a conducive learning environment for quality education, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Tarlac 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) has completed the construction of a two-storey, six-classroom school building at La Purisima Integrated School in the Municipality of La Paz.
Funded under the 2024 national budget, the P9.7-million facility has a total floor area of 215.65 square meters and features six spacious classrooms, comfort rooms, a wheelchair ramp for accessibility, and a fire protection system, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for both students and teachers.
Teacher Juvy Torres conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for the new facility, emphasizing its positive impact on both students and faculty.
“Maluwang na po ‘yung mga room namin, ‘yung mga bata talaga motivated na silang mag-aral, pumapasok nang maaga, and then nakakauwi na nang tamang oras, so malaki pong tulong ang pagkakaroon namin ng bagong building.” Torres said.
Meanwhile, District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos emphasized the department’s role in developing public infrastructure, including school buildings, to support education and community development.
“With this newly constructed school building, La Purisima Integrated School expects to decongest overcrowded classrooms and provide a more comfortable, efficient, and student-centered learning environment,” Ramos stated.
The completion of the project underscores the government’s investment in public infrastructure, including school facilities, to support education and community growth.#
