DPWH Bataan 1st DEO conduct random drug test for employees

A surprise mandatory drug test was recently conducted for employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bataan 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) as part of efforts to establish a drug-free workplace.
District Engineer Erlindo Flores, Jr. emphasized that the initiative aligns with DPWH Department Order No. 214, Series of 2016, as well as relevant laws, including Executive Order No. 66, Series of 2018, which institutionalizes the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy, and Civil Service Commission Memorandum Circular No. 13, Series of 2013.
“This effort is crucial in addressing the issue of illegal drugs and raising awareness about its dangers. By conducting this surprise drug test, we aim to deter drug use among our employees and promote a healthier work environment,” Flores said.
Following the test, Flores noted that the 100 randomly selected personnel demonstrated their commitment to the department’s drug-free workplace program while praising the smooth, professional process and expressing appreciation for the transparency and efficiency of the procedure.
