In his video message, DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy emphasized that these projects aim to digitize government services for the benefit of every Filipino.

“By streamlining services and enhancing transparency, we aim to improve the lives of all citizens, making government services simple, accessible, and effective,” he stated.

The eGov PH app simplifies interactions between the government and citizens by consolidating various agencies into a single online platform, aiming to reduce economic costs for citizens.

The eLGU system, accessible via the eGov PH app, enables individuals across the Philippines to access numerous services of local government units (LGUs).

Uy highlighted that these projects represent a significant shift in how the government interacts with its citizens.

He noted that services such as the digital National ID, e-travel system, PhilHealth benefits, SSS, GSIS premiums and loans, local civil registry, community tax certificate, real property taxes, and business permit renewals will now be accessible online.

“Through the power of technology, we can dismantle barriers and close gaps as never before,” he pressed.

Meanwhile, DICT Regional Director Antonio Edward Padre noted the eGov PH app’s uniqueness as the world’s first government super app combining national and local government services.

“With the eGov PH super app, LGUs in Bataan will soon link their existing infrastructure and internal platforms for their constituents to access frontline services online,” he emphasized.

Padre also mentioned that over five million Filipinos have already registered their accounts and expressed hope that more Bataeños would join after the provincial launch.

He addressed connectivity concerns by announcing the DICT National Broadband program’s recent launch of a national fiber backbone, which will provide a 100-gigabyte internet bandwidth from Laoag City to Quezon City, passing through Bataan.

Local chief executives or their representatives in the province actively showed their support for the programs and projects of DICT by digitally signing a commitment wall.

Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III expressed enthusiasm on behalf of the LGUs in the province.

“The innovations, different systems, and online services that we are doing can now be included in the eGov Super App of DICT,” he said.

Garcia thanked the DICT for choosing Bataan for the launch and committed to maximizing the app’s potential for the benefit of every Bataeño.

This launch aligns with Republic Act No. 11032, otherwise known as the “Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018,” aiming to foster a more transparent, efficient, and responsive government.
