THE Don Honorio Ventura State University—School of Law (SOL) in Bacolor, Pampanga kicked off the weeklong celebration of its first founding anniversary with a motorcade and unveiling of marker on Sunday, March 12, 2023.

A holy mass was also held by Rev. Fr. Ramon Torres, and a time capsule with memorabilia inside was also preserved to be opened after 50 years.

The motorcade, which started at SM Telabastagan, was joined by 80 vehicles including the university’s coaster, with more than 150 students, faculty, and non-teaching staff.

Also among the activities lined up for the week-long celebration until March 19, 2023 are Online Training (A talk about Law School Life) on March 13, 6 PM-7:30 PM; Health and Wellness Talk for Faculty (March 14, 7 PM to 8 PM); Mind Games (March 15, 6 PM to 7 PM); Dean’s Hour (March 16, 6 PM to 7 PM); Open Forum (March 17, 6 PM to 7 PM); Meeting De Avance for the Election of School of Law Student Government (LSG) (March 18, 6 PM) and Recognition Day, Election Day of LSG, and the first-ever Mr. and Ms. SOL on March 19 (1 PM to 5 PM).

According to SOL Dean Atty. David Robert Aquino, the SOL will be open not just to aspiring Kapampangan lawyers but also to students from nearby provinces.

Aquino furthered that the SOL will continue to aim to produce lawyers the Kapampangan way — always going beyond what is expected of them.

“Magaling pong magluto ang mga Kapampangan, pero dito po sa atin sa DHVSU-SOL, patuloy po rin nating gagalingan magluto para makapag-produce po tayo ng mga magagaling na lawyers,” Aquino added.

Aquino also underscored the unveiled marker, which features the logo of SOL, that symbolizes invincibility and honesty.

The DHVSU-SOL also extended its gratitude to those who extended their assistance in making the event possible.

To recall, the DHVSU-SOL was established in February 2022 pursuant to Republic Act 11169, or the law which expanded the university’s curricular offerings.

The law school building has a moot court, computer laboratory, library, faculty room and several lecture rooms and offices.
