TARLAC CITY — Department of Education (DepEd) has reactivated its Election Task Force Operation and Monitoring Center for the 2022 polls.
In a virtual presser, DepEd Regional Director May Eclar said this aims to assist public school teachers and personnel with their duties during the elections.
“This is one of the initiatives of our department to help the Commission on Elections to ensure free, orderly, honest, peaceful, and credible National and Local Elections 2022,” Eclar said.
Teachers also participated in the mock elections and voter’s education training for all the members of the Electoral Board.
Further, personnel belonging to the Electoral Board will receive increased honoraria and other allowances.
“Classes will be suspended from May 2 to 13. During this period, even modular learning will be suspended,” Eclar added.
To ensure the safety of learners’ face to face classes post-election, Eclar said thorough cleaning and disinfection of schools will be done.
About 66,000 teachers in Central Luzon will serve as members of the Electoral Board.
