CTG MEMBER SURRENDERED TO AUTHORITIES IN BULACAN

Camp General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos — A former member and supporter of the Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB), a Communist-Terrorist Group (CTG), voluntarily surrendered to the Bulacan PNP at Camp Alejo S. Santos, Malolos City, Bulacan, on August 16, 2024.

According to the report submitted to PCol Satur Ediong, Bulacan PPO, the individual was identified as “Ka Rhed/Ka Sonya,” a 58-year-old female of Bulakan, Bulacan. Ka Rhed/Ka Sonya, who is not on the PSR List, claimed to be a former member of the Bagong Hukbong Bayan (BHB) operating in the coastal areas of Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, and Zambales.

Further, Ka Rhed/Ka Sonya, assisted by personnel from the 2nd Platoon of the 1st PMFC, appeared at the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company Office in Camp Alejo S Santos at around 1:20 PM to surrender. Prior to her surrender, Ka Rhed/Ka Sonya reached out to the personnel of the 2nd Platoon, expressing her intention to reaffirm her allegiance to the government and to surrender an unlicensed firearm in her possession.

Following a thorough validation of her claims, elements of the 2nd Platoon, 1st PMFC, led by PCPT JOEY JAY L GUIYAB, in coordination with personnel from Malolos City Police Station, Bulacan PIU, 301st MC RMFB, and 70th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, facilitated her surrender, along with her unlicensed firearm described as one (1) Caliber .22 revolver without a serial number and three (3) pieces of live ammunition.

The surrendered former CTG member underwent booking procedures and was immediately released after the interview and documentation.

The surrender of CTG members highlights their commitment to realign with the government and work towards the shared goals of government reform, equal rights, and social justice.
