CITY OF MALOLOS — “Known only as the gateway to the north, but soon Bulacan will be a gateway to the world. We are working hard to introduce Bulacan not just as a stopover, but as a top pick and must-see travel destination.”

This was Governor Daniel R. Fernando’s message to Bulakenyos during the Singkaban Festival 2025 Grand Opening program held on September 8, at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium, vowing to further advance and develop the tourism sector of the province under his administration.
“Ang Bulacan ay hindi na dadaanan lamang, kundi lalawigang bibisitahin, mamahalin, at babalik-balikan,” he added. (Bulacan will no longer be just a passing place, but a province to visit, love, and return to again and again.)
Fernando also highlighted Bulacan’s recognition as the 3rd Safest Place in the Philippines for 2025 as announced by the World Travel Index, a testament to his leadership’s promise of making the province an ideal travel destination.
Furthermore, he called on Bulacan local leaders to improve and better their duties as leaders, emphasizing the importance of honest and pro-people public service amidst the issues on the alleged anomalous flood control projects.
“Nananawagan ako sa lahat ng mga nanunungkulan sa ating lalawigan. Sama-sama po tayo, pagbutihin po natin ang ating panunungkulan. Sa gitna ng mga isyung ito, ipinapangako kong hindi ko hahayaang tuluyang lumubog ang hustisya para sa ating lalawigan,” the governor said. ( I call on all those in office in our province. Let’s work together, let’s improve our office. Amidst these issues, I promise that I will not let justice for our province completely sink.)
On the other hand, Department of Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, represented by Undersecretary for Special Projects Ferdinand C. Jumapao, commended all Bulakenyos for uplifting the tourism spirit in the province through their genuine unity in this year’s celebration of Singkaban Festival.
“Ang tunay na tagumpay ng turismo ay nakasalalay sa pagtutulungan ng lahat. At dito, nakita natin sa probinsiya ng Bulacan, na lahat ng mga Bulakenyo ay nagtutulungan para umangat ang turismo,” he said. (The true success of tourism depends on everyone working together. And here, we have seen in the province of Bulacan, that all Bulakenyos are working together to boost tourism.)
“Ang Singkaban Festival ay patunay na kahit ano ang gawin, sa pagkakaisa, (The Singkaban Festival is proof that no matter what is done, in unity)
together we can preserve our traditions while creating new opportunities for growth,” Jumapao added.
The tourism undersecretary also attended the ribbon cutting of the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office’s Tatak Singkaban Trade Fair 2025 in front of the Regional Trial Court Building.
Meanwhile, a total of 48 floats from different local government units, agencies, and corporations across the province dazzled the streets of the City of Malolos after the opening program, flaunting the diverse cultures and traditions of each town and cities in Bulacan.
