CITY OF MALOLOS – The creativity and artistry of Bulakenyo photographers and musicians took center stage at the Discover Fun in Bulacan Photo Competition and Bulacan Tourism Jingle-Making Competition Awarding Ceremony held at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city last Saturday.
Christian Quinto, who bagged the first place in the Kasaysayan Category of the photo competition, said that his winning shot of the historic Barasoain Church was accidental.
May dala akong lumang sampung piso, una gusto ko lang before and after, so magkatapat lang. Maganda naman ‘yung naging outcome,” he said.
On the other hand, Jordan Cruz, who showcased the famous products of Eurobake Bakeshop and got the top prize for the Kain at Kalikasan Category, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to feature Bulacan’s culinary gem.
Moreover, Teodore Jane Espique, who got the first prize in the Kultura Category, emphasized the value of preserving Bulacan’s traditions.
All 1st placers in the three categories received trophies and P35,000 each.
Meanwhile, Mark Angelo Homer’s “Babalik-balikan” earned him the top spot in the Bulacan Tourism Jingle-Making Competition with a P50,000 cash prize.
Rounding out the winners of the jingle contest to promote the province’s “Bulacan, Babalik-balikan” brand were Jose Maria Arnoldus Gaspar, who took second place with his “Bulacan Tourism Jingle” and a P30,000 prize; Ezekiel Simon Malto’s “Tara, Sa Bulacan” won third place and P20,000; Jeric Ayuste’s “Bulacan, Babalik-Balikan” and Marvin Ducusin’s “Bulacan, Ikaw ay Mahal” were both recognized as runners-up, each receiving P10,000.
