CITY OF MALOLOS – Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro H. Tengco is one of the 12 Most Outstanding Bulakenyos who were given recognition by the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Gawad Dangal ng Lipi 2024 held at The Pavilion Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center in this city on Sunday.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro led the awarding of recognition to ‘Natatanging Bulakenyo’, the highest award given to a Bulakenyo, conferred by the Provincial Government of Bulacan to the individual who excels in any of the award categories with an outstanding contribution to the society.
Fernando said the Dangal ng Lipi is a tribute to a true blooded-Bulakenyo who have shown exceptional skill, courage, and caring not only in Bulacan but also in the entire country, a night of awards for the true inspirations of our society.
The award categories include public service, professional, community service, entrepreneur, education, science and technology, arts and culture, trade and industry, health, agriculture, and Bulakenyo Expatriate.
Tengco from the City of Malolos won for being outstanding in the field of Public Service wherein other awardees include Dr. Herman Roy Cruz, (Agriculture); Prof. Ernesto Cordero, (Bulakenyo Expatriate); Prof. Felicidad Perena, (Education); Jocelyn Reyes, (Entrepreneur); Dr. Nathaniel Servando, (Science and Technology); Conrado Onglao, (Trade and Industry); Dr. juanito Javier, (Health); Claro Criistobal, (Professional); Edgardo Santiago, (Arts and Culture), Mario Lipana, (Professional) and Atty. Florentino Manalastas, (Community Service).
Tengco said that he was honored to accept the award and he ensured that the province of Bulacan can count on him and assures of his support in any way he can help Fernando’s administration.
Fernando thanked the new batch of modern-day heroes for their invaluable contribution to the community and country.
For his part, Vice Gov. Castro said the new set of Bulakenyo heroes has been engraved in the history of Bulacan because of their important contributions to the town and community as exemplary citizens who serve as instruments to achieve the good of the majority.
