
CITY OF MALOLOS- The Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Provincial History, Arts, Culture, and Tourism Office (PHACTO), honored its partners in championing the tourism of the province in its Gawad Singkaban Bulacan Excellence in Tourism Awards held at the Nicanor Abelardo Auditorium, Hiyas ng Bulacan Cultural Center in this city on Wednesday.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando, in his speech delivered by Crispin de Luna, said that despite the challenges, Bulacan tourism continues to flourish as evidenced by the recognitions awarded to the province, which shows the unique zeal of the Bulacan brand in the field of tourism.
“Sa bawat museo, pista, at tanawing ating itinataguyod, ay naroon ang kuwento ng ating kasaysayan—ang kuwento ng mga bayani, ng sining at kultura, at ng mga mamamayang patuloy na bumubuo ng makabagong mukha ng Bulacan. Ang tagumpay natin sa turismo ay bunga ng pagtutulungan—mula sa mga lokal na pamahalaan, pribadong sektor, hanggang sa simpleng mamamayan na may pagmamahal sa ating lalawigan,” the governor said.
Gawad Singkaban BET Awardees include Dr. Eliseo S. Dela Cruz as a Lifetime Achievement in Bulacan Tourism Award; Angelo Paulo O. Chico, Marichelle S. Bernardo, and Romano DC. Del Rosario with Tourism Frontliner Award; Normannie Halasan-Santos, Sony Boy Mindo, and Arnel T. Papa with Creative Excellence in Tourism Award; Emiliano A. Eligio, Jeffrey S. Eligio, Jonnah L. Garcia, and Maria Natividad Ocampo-Castro with Excellence in Traditional Arts and Crafts in Tourism Award.
Moreover, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, National Commission for Culture and the Arts, Film Development Council of the Philippines, Department of Tourism Region III, and Association of Tourism Officers of Central Luzon received the Outstanding Government Office/Agency/Association in Bulacan Tourism Support Award; while the Municipal Governments of Bocaue, Pulilan, and Santa Maria, and the City Government of Malolos got the Outstanding Local Government Support for Bulacan Tourism Award.
Also, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos, Bulacan State University, Bulacan Polytechnic College, Dr. Yanga’s Colleges, Inc., and Richwell Colleges Inc. were honored with the Institutional Partner Award; while the Tourism Promotion Champion Award was given to Bulacan Bloggers, Provincial Public Affairs Office-Bulacan, Philippine Information Agency-Bulacan, Featr., and Pinas Sarap.
Lastly, the Corporate Partner Awardees include the NLEX Corp., Tengco Group of Stores, Smart Communications, Jollibee Foods Corporation, SM Supermalls, Robinsons Malolos, and VistaMall Malolos; while the Outstanding Tourism Association Awardees were the Association of Tourism Officers of Bulacan, Bulacan Association of Resort Owners, Bulacan Event Suppliers Association, Bulacan Association of Travel Agencies, Bulacan Farm Tourism Association, Group of Bulacan Events Professional, and LGBT Bulacan Federation.
Meanwhile, the PHACTO also presented the Revised Bulacan Tourism Code by virtue of Provincial Ordinance No. 126-2025 or “An Ordinance Revising the Provincial Ordinance No. 2012-04, Establishing the Tourism Code of Bulacan”.
