Bulacan dams release water due to  rains brought by typhoon Enteng

CITY OF MALOLOS — Rising water elevations at Ipo and Bustos Dams due to continuous rains dumped by typhoon Enteng have forced to release water on its down stream river system on Monday.
 
Based on situational report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction  Management Office (PDRRMO) of Bulacan showed that water elevation of Ipo Dam as of 8:00AM on September 2 was at 101.30 meter while that of  Bustos Dam was at 17.33 m.
 
Manuel Lukban Jr., PDRRMO head, said that by 11:00 am, Ipo Dam water level came high to 101.88 m compared to its spilling level of 101 m.
 
He said Ipo Dam has released by 11:00 am a total of 177.18 cubic meter per second of water. 
 
The said dam raised its radial gate to 30 centimeter that releases 63.10 CMS of water  and its overflow spills 114.08 cms for a total of 177.18 cms of water, Lukban added.
 
On the other hand, Josephine Salazar, regional director of the National Irrigation Administration in Central Luzon, said that by 11:00 am yesterday,  Bustos Dam’s water elevation rose to 17.52 m against its spilling level of 17.35 m.
 
Bustos Dam’s Sluice Gates 1 and 2 were up by three meters each that released a total of 156 cms of water.
 
Salazar noted and added that no water for irrigation was released by the said dam.
