CITY OF MALOLOS – In an event spirited by faith and local pride, the Provincial Government of Bulacan, under the leadership of Governor Daniel R. Fernando, proudly hosted the “Sto. Niño de Malolos: Conferment and Crowning of Sto. Niño de Malolos as ‘Principe ng Bulacan'” at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center.
This momentous occasion was sanctioned through Resolution No. 260 Series of 2023 by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan ng Bulacan, with Vice Governor Alexis C. Castro championing the celebratory spirit.
The event served as a beacon of devotion, illuminating the province’s rich cultural tapestry. Board Member Richard A. Roque, who chairs the Committee on Tourism, Culture, and the Arts, graced the occasion with an inspiring message.
“This recognition of Sto. Niño de Malolos as ‘Principe ng Bulacan’ is not just a title; it’s an invitation for all to deepen their devotion to the Child Jesus and a celebration of our historical legacy,” he remarked, encouraging attendees to embrace the spirit of faith and pride that the Sto. Niño encapsulates.
As colorful parades and traditional festivities filled the air, attendees from all walks of life gathered to honor the beloved patron saint. The conferment symbolizes not only a spiritual acknowledgment but also a commitment to nurturing the cultural heritage of Bulacan, further enriching the province’s vibrant history.
Also present during the occasion were Golden Jubilee Celebration Chairman and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation Alejandro H. Tengco, Cong. Danilo Domingo, City of Malolos Mayor Atty. Christian Natividad, Board Member Romina D. Fermin, SDdMFI Chaplain and Board of Trustee Rev. Fr. Vicente Lina Jr., and Past Hermana De Honor 2016 Matilde Natividad among others.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the Sto. Niño, reinforcing the bonds of faith and culture among the people of Bulacan. The event is set to inspire future generations to cherish the traditions that weave the fabric of their identity.
