Can you imagine how an event organizer organizes their event? That’s the grandeur of the 10th Anniversary of the Bulacan Event Suppliers Association (BESA) held in the historic landmark Manila Hotel in One Rizal Park, Manila. It laid down the red carpet to make Bulacan a premier wedding destination in the north of Metro Manila.

From a simple ‘huntahan’ of five individual event organizers, followed by frequent event collaborations, BESA was established in 2015 through the help and guidance of the Provincial History, Arts, Culture and Tourism Office (PHACTO). It has showcased the vibrant public-private partnership in the area of creatives, particularly in the handling and organization of weddings and various gatherings.
Bulacan Vice Governor Alexis Castro has cited BESA for making weddings in the province more seamless and hassle-free for the celebrants. It reflects the creativity of Bulakenyo event organizers in being calm in the midst of messy circumstances at a gathering.
The vice governor believes that Wedding Tourism is the next level where Bulacan can be an emerging destination for romantic weddings with historic church in the backdrop.
Perhaps, having Bulacan as the venue of a wedding, the couple can only spend half of the price. If they hold it in the known churches in Metro Manila such as the Manila Cathedral or San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila, rates start at P500 thousand to P1 million including the reception.
In Bulacan, couples may choose Barasoain Church in Malolos where the First Republic of the Philippines was inaugurated and two of the country’s presidents took their oaths of office. The Malolos Cathedral-Basilica Minore is also a grand option, where it serves as Palacio Presidencial during the administration of President Emilio Aguinaldo.
Not to mention the numerous churches in Bulacan, declared as national shrines and have historical facts to cherish.
Conducting a wedding in the said historical churches was complemented by delicious, traditional rural foods. Bulacan is also home to high-quality and classy wedding gowns, terno and Barong Tagalog at affordable prices.
Above all the mentioned, BESA can offer P199 thousand to P300 thousand ‘all-in’ for a ‘class wedding’ with 100 guests.
Josephine Murillo-Cruz, newly elected president of BESA said, event suppliers industry in Bulacan is now climbing from P5 to P10 billion. Aside from organizing its signature wedding, they can also organize various events or gatherings such as a birthday, anniversary, wedding, reunion and even a funeral.
Bulakenyo event suppliers also accelerated their partnerships with the premier hotels in Metro Manila such as the historic Manila Hotel. BESA also offered ‘Bulacan-touch’ weddings in those venues a very competitive prices.
Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism (DOT) has already made BESA one of its official event supplier partners in several tourism events.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Bulacan officer-in-charge Cristy Valenzuela is now looking forward to bringing the Malikhaing Pinoy Program to help BESA to further boost its creativity, productivity and sustainability. This is in line with Marcos Jr.’s administration agenda on leveling the playing field in the development of the creative industry.
