A newly concreted 1.5-kilometer section of Bagac-Mariveles Bypass Road in Barangay Malaya, Mariveles, has been completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) – Bataan 3rd District Engineering Office (DEO).
District Engineer Maribel Navarro said the P49.5-million project, funded under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program (BIP), upgrades a 1.5-kilometer segment of the Bagac-Mariveles Bypass Road, enhancing connectivity between the two towns.
“With this improvement, motorists can expect smoother travel and better access to neighboring barangays like Balon Anito and Ipag,” Navarro said.
The project also includes 500 meters of slope protection with a drainage canal and a concrete wheel guard on the right side to prevent erosion and enhance safety, along with reflective thermoplastic pavement markings for improved visibility.
