Operatives of the Bulacan Police were on manhunt operation against two unidentified armed suspects who shot twice the incumbent barangay captain in Sta Maria town on Friday evening.
PCol. Relly Arnedo, provincial director of Bulacan PNP identified the victim as Julian Rosillas, 59, married, barangay chairman and resident of Barangay Mag-asawang Sapa, Santa Maria, Bulacan.
Police said the victim now is in stable condition.
Investigation showed that the shooting incident occurred around 8:30PM while Rosillas was outside the Barangay hall when the suspects onboard a black single motorcycle suddenly appeared.
According to the victim while he was outside the Barangay hall, suddenly one of the suspect (gun man) approached him and fired twice at him heating the victim in his left abdomen.
The suspects immediately fled after the shooting while the victim was rushed to Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital.
He was advice by the attending Physician Dr. Arnel Angeles to transfer to Bulacan Medical Center Provincial Hospital for Medical.
Sta Maria Police Station immediately conducted an investigation and dragnet operation against the suspects.
