ANGELES CITY — The city government here under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. on October 7, 2023 will celebrate the grandest Kambal Festival at the Heritage District, also featuring creative floats.
With the theme ‘Celebration of Life’, this is part of the lined up activities for the upcoming religious festival celebration.
Mayor Lazatin is encouraging twins residing in the city to join the prestigious Kambal Festival, celebrating and commemorating Angeles City’s richest culture and history.
“Isa po ito sa pinagmamalaki ng Angeles City, for we are one of the few local government units in the country who is celebrating a festival for twins,” Lazatin urges.
Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, who is leading the committee for the unique festival celebration with Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Angeles City Tourism Office led by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, said the submission for the forms of the interested participants is until Aug. 31.
“The said forms are available at the respective barangays as well in the ACTO,” Manuel said.
The city government, through the ACTO and Angeles City Economic Development Investment and Promotions Office headed by Irish Bonus-Llego, already held a meeting last July 27 with the 33 barangays with their officials to iron out the preparation, guidelines, mechanics, and criteria for the upcoming celebration.
This is the third Kambal Festival celebration during the stint of Mayor Lazatin where the identical appearance of twin-participants and creative floats await recognition and prizes.
