ANGELES CITY – The Angeles City Public Cemetery now has a total capacity of 12,518 niches and columbarium following the completion of its Phase 3 expansion, ensuring available space for residents until 2030.
Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the inauguration and blessing of the newly expanded section in Barangay Capaya on March 5, 2025, where he was joined by Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, members of the City Council, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, former Angeles City Public Cemetery Head Philip Samson, department heads, chiefs-of-offices, and 33 barangay captains.
“Mas marami pa po tayong mabibigyan ng serbisyo sa ating public cemetery dahil na rin sa pagbubukas ng Phase 3 nito,” Lazatin said.
The expanded capacity includes 7,192 full-body niches (6,380 for adults and 812 for children), 3,726 bone niches, and 1,600 columbarium slots. Each columbarium slot can hold 2 to 3 urns, depending on their size.
According to Angeles City Public Cemetery Head Bryan Samson, the expanded capacity will be sufficient for the next five years without the need for further immediate expansion.
“Magiging sapat po hanggang 2030 ang mga available niches at columbarium natin,” Mayor Lazatin added.
Before Mayor Lazatin took office in 2019, the public cemetery had only 600 niches. With this expansion, the city continues to improve public services for its residents.
