ANGELES CITY — The annual distribution of ₱1,000 cash assistance and Vitamin C supplements to registered senior citizens from the city government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., will continue on April 8, 2024.
Five teams from the Office for the Senior Citizens Affairs headed by Eduardo Torres will simultaneously give ₱1,000 cash assistance and Vitamin C supplements via house-to-house distribution to 9,450 senior citizens in five barangays in the city.
Some 3,040 elderly from Barangay Cutcut, 1,822 from Barangay Pulungbulu, 1,153 from Barangay Capaya, 1,455 from Barangay Sapalibutad, and 2,070 from Barangay Pulung Cacutud will be visited by the teams from OSCA to handover the assistance.
According to Torres, the city government has already finished to distribute the ₱1,000 cash assistance and Vitamin C supplements to senior citizens in Barangays Cuayan, Virgen Delos Remedios, Agapito Del Rosario, Sta. Teresita, Cutud, and Balibago.
The house-to-house distribution of cash aid and vitamin C to other senior citizens in the remaining 22 barangays will follow suit.
A total of 47,670 registered senior citizens from the city will benefit from this assistance, which is the 5th year in a row that all registered senior citizens will receive the regular ₱1,000 cash assistance and three-month supply of Vitamin C supplements which started during the pandemic last 2020.
“Lagi po nating linilingap at binibigyan ng halaga ang kalusugan at kapakanan ng ating mga senior citizens,” Lazatin said
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang mga programang nasimulan natin para sa ating mga senior citizens. Tayo po ulit ang bababa sa kanila,” Lazatin furthered.
The distribution of financial assistance is being supervised by Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas and Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel.
To recall, it was in 2023 when 48,439 senior citizens received the said assistance; 40,159 in 2022; 53,996 in 2021; and 55,815 in 2020.
