ANGELES CITY — The city government here under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has begun to put up Philippine flags all over the City Hall premises and off-site offices in observance of the National Heroes Day on August 28, 2023.
Lazatin ordered the flags be installed until the end of August, in commemoration of our country’s heroes who fought during the colonial period.
“We heed the call of the National Government to support this year’s theme — ‘Karangalan, Katungkulan, Kabayanihan’, and promote patriotism among every Angeleño,” Lazatin said.
The Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) headed by Anneleen Antonio-Sugui, spearheaded the installation of the Philippine flags, in cooperation with members of the Angeles City Barangay Outreach led by Michael Lising.
Lazatin mentioned that the National Heroes Day celebration should be dedicated to the country’s unsung heroes who led us to our freedom.
Meanwhile, Antonio-Sugui for her part, will make sure that the public and the city government are doing their part in enriching both Filipino and Kapampangan heritage in the observance of the upcoming patriotic event.
