The Municipality of Bustos celebrated its 13th annual celebration of “Minasa Festival” 2023 as they formally opened the ceremony with guests Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, Senators Bong Go and  Imee Marcos on Monday.
 
Bustos folks and town officials headed by Mayor Francis “Iskul” Juan starts their 2023 in vitality and fun as they celebrated the town’s feast during the event’s opening ceremony held at the Bulacan Military Area (BMA) shrine located in the local municipality hall of Bustos.
 
Juan led the Minasa Festival opening and wreath laying ceremony with their Guest of Honors led by VP Sara, Go, Marcos, Governor Daniel Fernando, Vice Gov. Alex Castro, 2nd District Congresswoman Tina Pancho, DPWH First District Engineering Office District Engr. Henry Alcantara and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
 
Mayor Juan said that this year’s celebration with the theme “Mabighani Sa Sarap At Saya Ng Minasa Festival” will surely very excited and with much awaited weeklong exciting activities.
 
Juan invited everyone to join and witness their annual celebrations of the Minasa Festival which traditionally held every second week of January.
 
He said “Minasa” was named after the town’s famous milk biscuit which was made by actual hand mixing and flattening of the flour mixture or batter.
 
It is one of the towns popular and delicious delicacies. Other famous biscuits were the mouth-watering “Barquillos” and “Lengua De Gato” which are served and can purchase in every store in this town
 
“Ito ang sikat na home-made merienda na gustong-gusto kainin noon ng mga Kastila at ng mga well known rich families sa bayan ng Bustos,” the mayor said. 
 
It was learned that the people in the locality showcased their culture and tradition through this annual event.
 
Coincided with the celebration is the 106th Founding Anniversary of the said local municipality. 
 
It will highlighted with various event and activities such as Minasa Tugtugan Lights and Sounds Competition, Minasa Pyro-Music Show, Coop Trade Fair, Dangal ng Bustos: Natatanging Bustosenyo, Job Fair, Tanod Drill Competition, BulSU Night Variety Show, Minasa Likhang Sining Competition, 1st Minasa Off-Road Challenge, Minasa Tuklas Quiz Bee, Teachers Got Talent, Zumbayanihan, Minasa Kalinga kay LOlo at Lola, LGBT Inter Town Parade 3 Summit, LGBT Grad Queen Race, Agricultural Parade, Agri Trade FairBully Fun Match Show and the much awaited Minasa Street Dance Showdown, and Tugyaw: Tugtog at Sayaw Alay Kay Sto Nino and at night of the last day of celebration there will be a “Big Juan Surprise” from Mayor Juan.
