Senator Joel Villanueva graced the inauguration of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) ifrastructure project worth P100-million including the construction of three-storey fifteen-class room building, a multi purpose covered hall and establishment of first track and field oval with bleacher all located inside Congressman Erasmo Cruz Memorial Central School in Barangay Wakas in Bocaue, Bulacan on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.
The said project according to District Engineer Henry Alcantara of the Bulacan First Engineering Office was under the budget staged by Senator Joel Villanueva through the effort and initiative of the senator’s sister late mayor Joni Villanueva-Tugna wherein it was successfully completed on time despite of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was also witnessed by former CIBAC Party List Congressman Sherwin Tugna, husband of the late Mayor Joni V. Tugna.
The project started on January and has been completed despite of the Covid-19 second wave surge in March, third wave in July and heavy rains brought by southwest monsoon enhanced by typhoons until the month of August.
Villanueva said it is also the first and only public elementary school with rubberized track and field oval sports complex in the province as one of the initiated and priority project of then Mayor Tugna that she requested to her older brother senator Villanueva before she died on May 2020.
The construction management was under the DPWH from the senator’s 2020 General Appropriation Act (GAA).
