CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a total of 1,321 projects in Central Luzon under the 2021 Regular Infrastructure Program.
DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino disclosed that it includes completion and rehabilitation of 98.68-kilometers of road amounting to P2.68 billion; 22.3-kilometers of asphalt overlay worth P244 million; and rehabilitation of 20 bridges costing P428 million.
Also, 19,507 lineal meters of drainage; 43,985 square meters of road with slips slope; and 41,469 square meters of road slope protection structure.
DPWH likewise implemented projects of non-infrastructure agencies such as 55.11-kilometers of farm to market roads in convergence with Department of Agriculture; and 70 school buildings funded by Department of Education under the Basic Educational Facilities Fund.
Moreover, 12 infrastructure facilities were built under the Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad Program with Department of National Defense; public markets funded by Department of the Interior and Local Government; and 12 COVID-19 temporary treatment and monitoring facilities were constructed.
“We are fast-tracking the completion of 297 ongoing projects under the 2021 General Appropriations Act and start the 222 remaining projects to improve mobility and provide better access to services to the people,” Tolentino furthered.
