The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Brotherhood of Christian Businessmen and Professionals (BCBP) planted a total of 1,006 native and endemic tree seedlings in Bulacan Arboretum, Brgy. Sibul, San Miguel town as part of efforts to support forest rehabilitation and biodiversity conservation.
The tree-planting activity included 256 narra, 200 red lauan, 200 palosapis, and 350 molave seedlings, all selected to support the restoration of forest areas using species suited to local ecosystems.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo emphasized the importance of planting native and endemic tree species in forest rehabilitation efforts, noting their role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting healthy and resilient forest ecosystems.
He also underscored the value of partnerships between government and private organizations in advancing environmental programs, encouraging other groups and communities to participate in similar initiatives.
The activity forms part of the government’s continuing efforts to restore and enhance forest areas through the planting and maintenance of appropriate native and endemic species, contributing to the conservation of the country’s rich biodiversity.
