Residents of Bulacan’s First District, particularly those in coastal communities like Hagonoy, will no longer face the burden of traveling long distances for critical heart examinations. This improvement follows the provincial government’s initiative, led by Governor Daniel R. Fernando, to secure cutting-edge medical equipment and funding support from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO). During the First Monday Flag Raising Ceremony at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium on August 3, 2026.
The PCSO formally turned over a state-of-the-art 2D Echo Ultrasound Machine with Doppler to the Emilio G. Perez Memorial District Hospital (EGPMDH). The device will provide precise cardiovascular screening within the district, eliminating the need for patients to seek expensive private facilities or travel for essential diagnostic procedures.
Alongside the equipment turnover, the agency released ₱1.8 million—Bulacan’s share of Lotto revenues for the first half of the year. This release complies with Executive Order No. Section 357-A requires the PCSO to allocate a portion of its earnings to local government units for programs that directly serve the public welfare.
Governor Fernando, widely known as the “People’s Governor,” expressed his gratitude to the PCSO for its enduring partnership, emphasizing that upgrading district hospitals remains central to his administration’s commitment to a healthier province.
“Through our sustained collaboration, we will continue to strengthen our hospitals, enhance our facilities, and provide modern medical equipment. This ensures that every Bulakenyo, regardless of location, receives equitable access to quality healthcare,” Fernando stated.
