Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Trade Industry Development Specialist Engr. Micaella Novesteras discusses the safety standards for electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment, charging stations, and related accessories during a seminar organized by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Maintenance and Transportation Department in partnership with DTI-Zambales on June 11, 2026, at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
The seminar highlighted the importance of ensuring that EV charging infrastructure complies with Philippine National Standards to promote safe, reliable, and accessible electric mobility solutions. Participants were also briefed on the E-Transport Loan Program, which aims to assist small transport operators in transitioning to electric vehicles.
