
As retrieval operations continue at the collapse site in Brgy. Balibago, Angeles City under the Unified Command, two more bodies were recovered Monday night and Tuesday dawn.
At around 12:02 a.m. on June 9, 2026, the 30th victim was spotted in Quadrant 1 of the operation where after careful and systematic retrieval efforts, he was recovered at 12:16 a.m. and immediately subjected to the proper turnover process to the Angeles City Health Office (CHO) and Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) Team.
Meanwhile, in a report from the Unified Command to Responsible Officer (RO) Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the 29th victim was found in Quadrant 3 of the collapse site.
The victim was found on Monday night, and was recovered by responders at around 9:37 p.m. and immediately turned over to the Angeles City Health Office (CHO) and Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) Team for appropriate processing and identification.
Retrieval and recovery operations continue under the Unified Command while all necessary steps are being carried out with respect, dignity, and adherence to established process.
The deployment of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel including two K9 dogs to the collapse site in Brgy. Balibago, Angeles City in support of ongoing retrieval and recovery operations is also continuing.
Under the leadership of the Unified Command, the specialized capabilities of K9 teams continue to be utilized to assist in assessment and search efforts in areas that are being cleaned and examined at Ground Zero.
The Angeles City Government and Responsible Officer (RO) Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II thank the Philippine Coast Guard and their K9 handlers for their dedication, professionalism, and continued solidarity in assisting.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Pampanga (HARP) met with the Angeles City Tourism Office and City Legal Office regarding the ongoing efforts of the Angeles City Government to assist businesses affected by the said collapsed incident.
The dialogue focused on providing guidance and support to hotel and hospitality establishments in the affected area, addressing concerns related to their business operations, and identifying actions to mitigate the impact of the tragedy on the affected establishments, employees, and stakeholders.
Earlier, Mayor Lazatin directed the Angeles City Tourism Office, through the Angeles City Tourist Information and Visitors Engagement (ACTIVE) team, to immediately assess the condition and welfare of business establishments in the vicinity of the collapse site.
The initiative forms part of the city’s broader response to ensure that affected businesses receive the necessary assistance and remain informed of available support.
Through continued collaboration with HARP and other stakeholders, the Angeles City Government remains committed to protecting livelihoods, supporting local enterprises, and promoting the welfare of workers, business owners, visitors, and the wider Angeleño community.
