2,600 scholars receive financial aid in Bulacan

CITY OF MALOLOS — A total of 2,646 Bulakenyo high school and college students from across the province received scholarship grants during the Provincial Government of Bulacan’s “Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Bulakenyo” General Assembly in partnership with the Landbank of the Philippines on Thursday, May 7, at the Bulacan Capitol Gymnasium in this city.

Tertiary students from private institutions received P3,500, while scholars from public state universities and colleges were given P3,000, the same amount that private and public senior high school students received.

The financial aids were directly granted to the beneficiaries’ Landbank cards.

The program also featured financial literacy talks led by Landbank representatives, encouraging students to save responsibly, build emergency funds, and maximize the benefits of the Perang Inimpok Savings Option (PISO) account.

Additional discussions on mental health, stress management, and gender sensitivity were also conducted by Kaila Joie Rodaje of the Health Promotion Unit of the Provincial Health Office – Public Health and Gladylyn S. Burgos of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office.

Meanwhile, Governor Daniel R. Fernando and Vice Governor Alexis P. Castro urged the scholars to finish their studies and become successful in the future.

“Kaya pagbutihin po natin, ‘wag po tayong magpabaya sa pag-aaral. Ang hangad po namin para sa inyo ay makapagtapos ng pag-aaral,” Fernando said.
