
SM City Marilao attracted thousands of jobseekers during the job fair held in time for Labor Day on May 1.
The job fair, was organized in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in celebration of the 124th Labor Day on May 1 through its nationwide job fair activity with the theme “Disenteng Trabaho Para sa Lahat: Iisang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating” together with the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the Municipal PESO unit of Marilao, with the support of the local government of Marilao, generated a total of 2,054 job openings.
Through the said initiative, SM Supermalls, together with the partner government agencies continue to bring meaningful career opportunities closer to communities by bringing employers and applicants together in one venue.

A total of 35 local companies and 2 overseas companies participated in the job fair, providing positions across different industries in the province, including openings within SM Supermalls.
Applicants also benefited from the One-Stop Shop, where they were able to process employment-related requirements from agencies such as Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE),Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The job fair is one of the many ways SM Supermalls contributes to nation-building by supporting both national and local government initiatives aimed at generating employment opportunities for Filipinos.
Jobseekers may also look forward to another chance to explore career opportunities at the upcoming job fair happening on May 17 at SM Center Pulilan.
It was learned that across the country the DOLE conducted an overall 94 nationwide job fairs on Labor Day with a total 2,400 local and overseas employers participated and generated over 190,000 job vacancies.
