
Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Three individuals were arrested by joint law enforcement operatives for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Lepa, Malasiqui, Pangasinan on March 11.
The operation was carried out by elements of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3 (RMFB3) led by its Intelligence Section, with support from the Investigation Section, Tactical Support Company, and 304th Maneuver Company, in coordination with the Pangasinan Police Provincial Office, 105th MC of RMFB1, and the Malasiqui Municipal Police Station.
The suspects were caught selling an unlicensed firearm and failed to present any documents proving lawful ownership or possession, resulting in their arrest.
Authorities confiscated several firearms and ammunition, including an M16A1 Colt rifle with defaced serial number, a Carbine M2 caliber .30 rifle, a caliber .380 LLAMA pistol, and a Remington 1911 pistol, along with multiple magazines and live rounds.
Also recovered were two boxes containing 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition, boodle money used in the operation, and marked genuine ₱1,000 bills.
PBGEN Jess B. Mendez, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 3, emphasized that the operation highlights the intensified campaign against loose firearms.
“This successful operation demonstrates our continuing campaign against the proliferation of loose firearms that may be used in the commission of crimes. In line with the PNP Focused Agenda of our Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., we will continue to strengthen intelligence-driven operations and inter-agency coordination to ensure the safety and security of our communities,” Mendez said.
He added that PRO3 remains steadfast in enforcing the law and preventing illegal firearms from fueling criminal activities while delivering responsive and professional police service to the public.
