CITY OF SAN JOSE DEL MONTE, Bulacan– President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has ensured that public school teachers shall not be left behind in the aspect of taking care of their health.
The president inspected the conduct of Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) spearheaded by the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) in Minuyan Elementary School in Barangay Minuyan Proper, San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan.
YAKAP is a flagship health care program of President Marcos being implemented by the PhilHealth. It provides a free primary care benefit package to strengthen preventive health through doctor’s consultations and laboratory tests. There’s also a cancer screening and medicine supplies.
PhilHealth Region III-Branch B Acting Manager Arlan Granali has explained that apart from conducting YAKAP Caravans, teachers, students and parents can avail YAKAP benefits through PhilHealth’s accredited health care provider.
He also pointed out that highlighting the YAKAP is part of the 31st Anniversary of the PhilHealth, when the Republic Act 7875 or the National Health Insurance Act of 1995 was enacted. It is now amended the Universal Health Care Act of 2019 or the Republic Act 11223, where all Filipinos were covered by health insurance.
In this school, more than 200 teachers, students and parents have availed YAKAP, where President Marcos took time to engage and interact with them during the visit. There are 3,085 enrolled students here in Minuyan Elementary School.
