CLARK FREEPORT ZONE — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Clark and the Clark Inter-Agency Task Force Against Illegal Drugs seized about 712 grams of high-grade marijuana or Kush worth P1.068 million.

Authorities reported that the parcel arrived in the second week of January 2026 from California, USA and was declared as jeans.

Samples submitted to PDEA for chemical analysis confirmed the substance as tetrahydrocannabinol, the active component in marijuana and a dangerous drug under Republic Act No. (RA) 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued against the parcel for violations of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act in relation to RA 9165.

Port of Clark District Collector Jairus Reyes said the seizure reflects BOC-Clark’s firm resolve to keep airport gateways secure and to prevent illegal drugs from reaching communities.

In a statement, BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno commended the coordinated efforts of BOC personnel and partner agencies, saying the operation is in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s national security priorities.

“Our officers, in close coordination with law enforcement partners, remain steadfast and vigilant, leaving no stone unturned in our mission to protect our borders. By consistently pursuing this collective effort, we strive to create a safer environment for the public and keep our communities safe from illegal drugs,” he said.
