FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – Through Resolution No. 335-2025, the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bogo, Cebu expressed their gratitude to Congressman Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. for his personal donation, amounting to P100,000, for the victims of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Bogo City on September 30, 2025.
“The benevolent act reflects the true spirit of bayanihan and demonstrates a sincere concern for the welfare of the community,” the Resolution states.
It can be recalled that in October last year, Lazatin donated P100,000 each, from his own salary, to Bogo City and Davao Oriental, to aid in their relief and recovery efforts following the September and October earthquakes that struck the localities.
In November of the same year, Lazatin also donated P100,000 from his salary for the victims of Typhoon Tino and Uwan in Negros Oriental.
“Kasama ninyo kami sa inyong pinagdadaanan. Nananalangin at nakikiramay kami sa mga namatayan,” Lazatin had said.
Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, Department of Transportation Asec. IC Calaguas, and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel also gave personal donations amounting to P25,000 each.
The Red Pillars Foundation, headed by Calaguas and Manuel, also donated P50,000 for the earthquake victims.
