Lazatin to donate P100K to earthquake victims in Cebu

FIRST DISTRICT, Pampanga – Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is set to donate P 100,000 out of his own pocket for the victims of the 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Bogo City, Cebu on October 1, 2025.

“Lubos ang aming pakikiramay sa mga kababayan nating Cebuanos at mga karatig na bayan na naapektuhan sa naganap na lindol,” Lazatin said in a message of solidarity.

“Kasama ninyo kami sa inyong pinagdadaanan. Nananalangin at nakikiramay kami sa mga namatayan,” he added.

As of writing, the National Disaster risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reports at least 26 people and 147 injured due to the earthquake, which caused several structures, including old churches, to collapse.

According to the assessment of the NDRRMC, at least 22 buildings were damaged, while one road and three bridges are impassable.

“Ang Unang Distrito at mga Kapampangan ay ipinagdarasal na malampasan ang pagsubok at sa muli ninyong pagbangon,” Lazatin said.

It can be recalled that when Mindanao was struck by a series of earthquakes back in October 2019, Lazatin also donated one month of his salary as then Angeles City Mayor, amounting to around P 175,000, for the victims.

Lazatin’s Chief Adviser, Department of Transportation Asec. IC Calaguas, and Chief Political Affairs Officer Reina Manuel are also set to give personal donations of P25,000 each.

The Red Pillars Foundation, headed by Calaguas and Manuel, will also donate P 50,000 for the earthquake victims.
