PRO3 holds 3-day cyber patrollers training, strengthens crime solution efforts

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) on Wednesday formally launched the 3-Day Cyber Patrollers Training at the Patrol Hall, Camp Olivas which will end until July 25, 2025.
 
A total of 20 participants from various police units in Central Luzon participated in the training, which aims to develop a dedicated PRO3 Cyber Patroller Team.

PRO3 Regional Director PBGen Ponce Rogelio Peñones Jr. said these trained personnel will focus on cybercrime detection, online threat monitoring, and enhancing overall crime solution efficiency through digital tools and strategies.
 
Resource speakers from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), home to the pioneering Cyber Patroller Team, led the training sessions. 
 
The initiative is aligned with the NCRPO’s successful model of proactive online patrolling and digital public engagement.
 
Peñones stressed that the formation of a cyber patroller team is essential to the region’s crime prevention and solution efforts, especially in today’s increasingly digital landscape.
 
“Cybercrime has become more complex and widespread. By capacitating our personnel with the right skills, we enhance not only our online presence but also our ability to solve crimes faster and more efficiently,” Peñones said.
 
“This training is more than just about cyber awareness. It’s about building capability and confidence to operate in the digital space and contribute meaningfully to our crime solution efforts,” he added.
 
Participants will undergo intensive sessions on digital evidence handling, cyber patrolling techniques, online investigations, and responsible social media use—ensuring they are fully equipped to address the demands of modern-day policing.
 
The 3-Day Cyber Patrollers Training marks a major step in PRO3’s modernization efforts and commitment to safeguarding communities—both in the real world and the digital realm.
