12 former rebels in Central Luzon surrender 

CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Twelve former members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and Underground Mass Organizations (UGMO) from the provinces of Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan successfully surrendered to the government as a proof that the campaign of the present administration under the leadership of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. against insurgency was effective.
 
According to PBGen Jean Fajardo, regional director of the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), they surrendered on May 13 and  May 16, 2025. 
 
Fajardo said that a person identified only by her alias  as “Ka Mia,” a farmer from Brgy. Pao 3rd, Camiling, Tarlac, voluntarily surrendered. 
 
She was a former member of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilla-Tarlac-Zambales (KLG-TAR-ZAM) under Neptali Santos alias “Ka Atong” which operated in Tarlac and Zambales. 
 
With the help of intelligence operatives of the Camiling Municipal Police Station, Ka Mia surrendered one caliber .38 revolver without ammunition, which after conducting a tactical interview she was released. 
 
Meanwhile, on May 16 in Brgy. Faigal, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, nine members of the Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) simultaneously withdrew their support from the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL), which has ties to the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas (KMP). 
 
Among those who converted were identified only by their aliases as “Gloria,” “Feliza,” “Irene,” “Zenika,” “Julieta,” “Lydia,” “Norma,” “Marcelina,” and “Rualyn,” all residents of the said area. 
 
The operation was led by the 2nd Police Mobile Force Company (PMFC) of the Nueva Ecija PPO with units from Guimba, Rizal, Llanera, and Quezon MPS, Regional Mobile Force Batallion 3 (RMFB3), National Intelligence Coordinating Agency3 (NICA3), Regional Intelligence Unit 3 (RIU3), Iformation Operation Section-Regional Intelligence Division 3 (IOS-RID3), 84th Infantry battalion-7th Infantry Division Philippine Army (PA) and 21SAC-2SAB. 
 
On the same day, “Ka Ruby,” 42 years old, from Brgy. Calero, Malolos City, surrendered at the 1st PMFC Headquarters in Camp Alejo S. Santos, Bulacan. 
 
He was a former member of the Revolutionary People’s Army (RHB) operating along the coastal of Bulacan, Pampanga, Zambales, and Bataan where he surrendered a snub-nose caliber .38 revolver. 
 
The surrender was carried out by the 1st PMFC together with the Malolos CPS, Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit, 70th Infantry Battalion-Philippine Army (PA). 
 
Ka Ruby is currently undergoing documentation and tactical interrogation, and has already been given initial financial assistance. 
 
Another former UGMO member  a certain alias “Nonoy,” 32 years old, single, and a resident of Brgy. San Eustacio, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija, former member of the Pambansang Katipunan ng Magsasaka (PKM) also surrendered on May 16 in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. 
 
With the help of the joint forces of the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) 1st and 2nd PMFC and Zaragoza MPS, he surrendered a caliber .38 revolver. 
 
According to PBGenFajardo, “The series of surrenders clearly demonstrate the success of the government’s intensified campaign against the insurgency under Oplan Balik-Loob and the initiatives of the local Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC). It also demonstrates the re-conversion of former rebels to peaceful living and the continued efforts of the PNP in promoting peace and order in the region.”
