603 FIREARMS SEIZED AS PRO3 INTENSIFIES REVITALIZED KATOK AHEAD OF 2025 ELECTIONS

Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – In a decisive move to ensure a secure and peaceful 2025 national and local elections, Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) has seized 603 firearms in its intensified Revitalized Katok campaign from January 12 to March 3, 2025. This operation targeted loose firearms that could pose a threat to public safety and electoral integrity.
 
Among the recovered firearms, 599 were short firearms and four were light weapons, with Nueva Ecija recording the highest number of deposits at 230—underscoring the province’s key role in this crackdown.
 
PRO3 Director PBGen Jean Fajardo emphasized the significance of this effort: “Securing the upcoming elections starts with ensuring that deadly weapons do not fall into the wrong hands. The success of this campaign, especially in Nueva Ecija, reflects our steadfast commitment to public safety. We urge communities to remain vigilant and report any illegal firearms to help maintain peace and order.”
 
The Revitalized Katok initiative is part of the PNP’s broader strategy to curb election-related violence, reinforcing its mandate to uphold law and order across Central Luzon.
