‘ANGELEÑO ALERTO! POGI EMERGENCY APP’ LAUNCHES IN ANGELES CITY

Angeles City officially launched the Angeleño Alerto! 24/7 Mobile App – Personal On-call Guard Interface (POGI) today, January 28 — a first not only in Pampanga but also in the region.

The app streamlines emergency response by cutting the process down to just 8 minutes, ensuring faster assistance for Angeleños in critical situations.

MAYOR CARMELO “POGI” LAZATIN JR

Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the event at the Barangay Pandan covered court with First District Rep. Carmelo ‘Jon’ Lazatin II, where a simulation exercise demonstrated how the app enhances emergency response, cutting the process down to just 8 minutes.

During the simulation, responders took only 3 minutes to reach the reported incident at Francisco G. Nepomuceno Memorial High School and successfully transported the patient to Rafael Lazatin Memorial Medical Center.

“With this app, we can cut response time and ensure faster help during emergencies,” Lazatin emphasized. “Pinapasalamatan ko rin po ang ating mga kawaninsa patuloy na pagseguro sa kaligtasan ng ating mga kababayan.”

The app enables users to report incidents in real-time and share their exact location with responders from the Information Communication and Technology Division Chief Mike Lising, Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO) headed by Rodolfo Simeon, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Angeles City Police Office.

“Hinahamon ko po ang ating mga responders na mas pabilisin pa ang emergency response time para sa ating mga kababayan,” Lazatin said.

Mayor Lazatin’s Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, who supervised the project with Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, highlighted its life-saving potential: “No matter where you are, help is now just a tap away.”

“This initiative reinforces the city’s commitment to disaster preparedness and public safety through innovation and technology,” Calaguas said.

The app is free to download and features a step-by-step registration guide, which will be posted on the Angeles City Information Office Facebook page.

Present during the grand launching are DILG – Angeles City Director Yvette Cosio, 33 barangay captains and kagawads, and department heads and chiefs-of-offices.
