P46-M marijuana seized, 2 drug suspects arrested in Bulacan

Operatives from the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PNP-DEG), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Marilao Police Station and Balagtas Police Station were able to confiscate a total of P46.5-million worth of dried marijuana leaves and arrest two suspects in a consecutive drug-bust operations in Marilao and Balagtas town on Saturday afternoon (October 26).

PBGen Eleazar P Matta, Director of PNP DEG said two individuals were arrested during the said successful buy bust operations.
 
The police operations against illegal narcotics were conducted first in Barangay Pantubig, Marilao, Bulacan around 1:10 PM resulted in the successful arrest of a 43-year-old male wherein the operating units seized thirty-eight (38) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing dried leaves suspected to high-grade marijuana weighing approximately nineteen (19) kilograms, with an estimated street value of P28,500,000.00.
 
Same team then in a follow-up operation at 3:15 PM in Blk 2 lot 10 Northville 6., Brgy. Santol, Balagtas Bulacan resulted in the successful arrest of a 40-year-old male from Brgy. Patubig, Marilao, Bulacan, categorized as High-Value Individual. 
 
During the operation, twenty-four (24) pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic packs containing dried leaves suspected to high-grade marijuana weighing approximately twelve (12) kilograms, with an estimated street value of P 18,000,000.00 were seized from the suspect.
 
PBGen Matta commended the dedication of the operating units, stating, “Our team’s latest buy-bust operation was a resounding success, resulting in the capture of major key drug suspect and the removal of illegal drugs from the streets. These actions demonstrate our unwavering commitment to improving community safety.”
 
According to Matta, the team’s successful operation has significantly disrupted drug distribution in the region, resulting in an arrest and substantial drug seizures.
 
He said the success operations not only affects the drug trade but also contributes to a safer and healthier community as they will continue to monitor and address the said kind of illegal trade.
 
The arrested individuals is currently in the temporary custody of the Marilao and Balagtas Municipal Police Stations while the confiscated drug evidences will be transferred to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
