ANGELES CITY — Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. will begin the house-to-house distribution of ₱1,000 cash assistance, and five kilos of rice each to 2,500 registered solo parents from the city’s 33 barangays on August 12, 2024.
Mayor Lazatin will jumpstart the distribution of aid in Barangays Pulungbulu (43 beneficiaries); San Jose (10); and Margot (35).
City Solo Parents Affairs Focal Person Rebecca Peñaranda said that the beneficiaries are those who were registered with the solo parents affairs office.
“Malaki po ang pasasalamat naming mga solo parent dahil hindi po nakakalimot si Mayor Lazatin na magbigay po ng ayuda,” Peñaranda said.
The cash assistance would be of great help to them, Peñaranda added.
Members of the City Social Welfare and Development Office, led by Edna Duaso, together with Peñaranda will assist Mayor Lazatin during the distribution.
According to Peñaranda, the house-to-house distribution is now easier since the database for the solo parents’ community in the city’s 33 barangays has been updated and organized.
In 2020 to 2023, indigent registered solo parents also received ₱1,000 cash aid from the city government.
