Camp Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga- Several former members of various Communist Front Organizations (CFOs) voluntarily surrendered and withdrew their support from the CPP-NPA-NDF in coordinated operations across the region between July 15 and 16.
On July 16, aka “Ka Tagpi,” a 48-year-old vendor and former Anakpawis member, surrendered at Brgy. Motrico, La Paz, Tarlac. La Paz MPS, with support from various police and military units, facilitated his surrender.
He handed over a .38 caliber revolver and five live ammunition rounds. Also, alias Ka Marta, a 59-year-old farmer and former Anakpawis coordinator, surrendered at Brgy. Santiago, Gerona, Tarlac wherein Tarlac 2nd PMFC and other units facilitated her surrender, during which she handed over a 40mm High Explosive.
Relatedly, two former members of Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL-Bataan) and Alyansa ng mga Magbubukid sa Bataan (ALMABA), aka “Ka Rye” and “Ka Caleng” surrendered at Orani MPS, Bataan and turned in an improvised 12-gauge shotgun while eight (8) members of Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) withdrew support from AMGL in Guimba, Nueva Ecija facilitated by the 2nd PMFC, NEPPO.
Additionally, on July 15, aka “Ka Felix,” a former NPA member, surrendered at the OCMFC Office, Camp LtGen Manuel F Cabal, Olongapo City and turned in an improvised shotgun and a 40mm M203 HE round. Also, aka Ka Del, a 74-year-old former member of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda, surrendered at 302nd MC, RMFB3, Brgy. Sto Tomas, Lubao, Pampanga and he handed over an improvised .22 caliber rifle.
Alias “Teo,” a former member of Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magsasaka, surrendered to 1st PMFC, Aurora PPO at Sitio San Andres, Brgy. Florida, Maria Aurora while aka Ka Berto, a former CTG member, surrendered at 2nd PMFC-NEPPO Headquarters, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija and turned in a .38 caliber homemade revolver.
PRO3 Director PBGen Jose Hidalgo Jr. said that these voluntary surrenders are part of the intensified efforts of various police and military units to combat insurgency and promote peace and security in the regions.
