CITY OF MALOLOS – In a bid to nurture the leadership potential of young minds, the Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Provincial Youth, Sports, and Development Office (PYSDO) organized a leadership training event dubbed as “Rising Stars: Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders – Student Leadership and Career Development at The Pavilion, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center here on Friday, May 3.
With a focus on enriching the knowledge and honing the skills of class officers from various degree courses at Bulacan Polytechnic Collese, the event aimed to prepare them to tackle the challenges of modern governance and leadership with confidence.
The program commenced with insightful opening remarks by Dr. Janet Raymundo-Valdez, the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) – College President of BPC, setting the tone for an enriching and enlightening day ahead followed by the talks of esteemed resource speakers.
Rose Chell Anne R. Austria, Cluster Head from the National Youth Commission Regions II and III, discussed the profile of Filipino youth and the 10 centers of participation.
The afternoon session delved deeper into the historical and cultural heritage of Bulacan, where Billy Joe B. Marciano, Project Officer Development I from PHACTO, shed light on “Ang Kasaysayan at Pamana ng Ating Lalawigan”.
Testimonials of success from BPC alumni were also showcased through recorded videos, illustrating the transformative journey of individuals who once walked the halls of BPC.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that to be an effective leader, one must follow his/her passion and life’s path.
“Kung saan man tayo tutungo pagkatapos ng ating pagtatapos, tayo, bawat isa sa atin, ay maging isang lider. Kung saan man tayo mapunta na larangan, kung saan man tayo mapadpad, tayo ay isang lider-kabataan,” Fernando said in his message delivered by OIC Department Head of PYSDO and his Chief of Staff Atty. Nikki Manuel S. Coronel.
The event culminated with an engaging session led by Coronel who imparted invaluable insights on “How to Be a Good Leader,” equipping the participants with practical tools and strategies to navigate the complexities of leadership effectively.
Also present in the event were Administrative Assistant I Jubairah De Leon, representative of Vice Gov. Alexis C. Castro, and Congressman Danilo A. Domingo, who shared their insights and motivation with the aspiring leaders.
