Arbor Day Angeles
City Engineer Donato Dizon on Saturday led a tree planting activity at the Angeles City Watershed in Barangay Sapangbato as part of the Arbor Day celebration.
City Engineer Donato Dizon on June 24, 2023 led a tree planting activity at the Angeles City Watershed located in Barangay Sapangbato as part of the Arbor Day celebration.

Joining Engr. Dizon during the tree planting activity are the members of the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, and Environmental Management System.

Arbor Day is a secular day of observance in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees.

This is also part of the city government’s efforts to reforest the 560-hectare watershed.

Among the seedlings planted today are bayabas, guyabano, anunas, bamboo, and mulberry.

Part of the priority program of Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. is the massive reforestation in the Angeles City Watershed to ensure the water supply of the future generation, recognizing the importance of water.

The city government started its massive reforestation efforts last 2020 to increase water reserves which will benefit the city and the Metro Clark area.

In addition, Mayor Lazatin is encouraging private sectors and Non-Government Organizations to “adopt” certain areas in the watershed.

“Having water is a must. These efforts being done at the present time will help conserve water for the use of future generations. Isa lang naman po ang goal natin, ang maseguro ang kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan, habang pinangangalagaan ang kalikasan,” Lazatin furthered.
