Tatlumpung mga nursing students mula sa sampung unibersidad at kolehiyo sa Gitnang Luzon ang lumahok at nagtagisan ng talino sa sa First Central Luzon’s “Battle of the Nightingales 2023” na ginanap sa SM City San Fernando sa Pampanga ngayong araw.
Ang BOTN 2023 ay inilunsad sa pakikipagtulungan ng Metro Pacific Health kasama ang Sacred Heart Hospital of Malolos at Central Luzon Doctor’s Hospital.
Kabilang sa mga paaralang lumahok sa nasabing kompetisyon ay ang Bulacan State University (BulSU), Araullo University, Centro Escolar University-Malolos Campus, Central Luzon Doctor’s Hospital – Educational Institution, Inc., Columban College, Good Samaritan Colleges, Guagua National Colleges, Inc., Holy Angel University, System Plus – College Foundation and Tarlac State University.
Ayon kay Paulo Vincent Torres, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Sacred Heart Hospital of Malolos, ang Battle of the Nightingales” quiz bee ay naglalayon na makatulong sa pagpapa-igting ng nursing excellence image ng Metro Pacific Health (MPH) at pagpapakita ng highest standards sa nursing practice at gayundin sa patient care.
“The quiz bee, dubbed as Project Nightingale: Overview, is an initiative of Sacred Heart Hospital of Maolos, in celebration of its 55th year founding anniversary on Sept. 1 being one of the oldest and the leading private hospitals in providing qualiity medical care to Bulakenyos. Metro Pacific Health which partly owns the hospital is now one of the largest group of hospitals in the country,” wika ni Torres.
Ang Metro Pacific Health na kumikilala sa kahalagahan ng *Battle of the Nightingales* project ay nagpasyang isagawa ang *nationwide roll- out of the project across MPH hospitals this 2023.*
Ayon kay Anabelle Estrella, Assistant Marketing head ng Sacred Heart Hospital, ang mananalong kalahok o overall champion ng naturang kompetisyon ang siyang isasabak o magiging representative ng Region 3 sa gaganaping BOTN National Championship sa darating na October 20 sa Metro Manila.
Layunin din ng BOTN 2023 ang i-promote ang public awareness and appreciation ng nursing profession sa pamamagitan ng pag-highlight sa mahalagang papel ng isang nurse sa pangagalaga sa kalusugan.
Ito rin ay maghihikayat sa mga top nursing graduates na magtrabaho sa kanilang hanay na ospital at mapanatili ang pinakamahusay na talento sa pagaalaga ng isang comprehensive recruitment at retention strategy.
Nabatid na ang Metro Pacific Health, ay na-establish taong 2007 at ngayon ay mayroon nang 21 chain of hospitals sa buong bansa.
“The BOTN encourage professional synergy and the exchange of knowledge and best practices through the professional collaborations forged by the project,” MPH said.
“The Board of Judges will be made up of three professional nurses, held in high esteem by the community, as recommended by the PNA Local Chapter. No medical doctors will be involved as judges. The MPH hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Judges,” the organizer said.
Ang kompetisyon ay mayroong two rounds, Preliminary Round at Final Round kung saan ang top 5 teams sa Preliminary Round ay siyang maghaharap para sa Final Round.
Ang top three teams sa Final round ay siya namang idedeklarang Champion, 2nd Placer, at 3rd Placer.
