CITY OF MALOLOS – In one with the Arbor Day 2022 observation, the Provincial Government of Bulacan through the Bulacan Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO) has planted 1,000 tree seedlings in Brgy. Meyto, Calumpit, Bulacan on Friday morning.
BENRO head Atty. Julius Victor C. Degala said that 500 forest tree seedlings were planted including 200 Narra, 200 Kamagong and 100 Bagras and also 500 fruit bearing seedlings including 200 Langka, 200 Guyabano and 100 Guaple.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando said that he will continue to monitor the growing of the said trees with the help of the residents in Brgy. Meyto.
“Pinasasalamatan ko ang bawat isang lumahok sa nasabing pagbibigay halaga sa Arbor Day kung saan di lang natatapos dito sa pagtatanim ng puno ang gawain kundi hanggang sa pag-aalaga ng mga itinanim,” Fernando said.
With the theme “Aksyon para sa natatanging mundo” #ONLYONEEARTH, more than 200 participated in the said tree planting including representatives from different offices of the PGB, BENRO staff, officials and workers of Brgy. Meyto headed by Brgy. Chairman Arlito Franco, Chairman Ruperto Hernandez of Provincial Agriculture and Fishery Council, Chairman Angelito Capulong of Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council, Luningning Alcantara of Municipal Agriculture Office, and Marites Sabino of MENRO Calumpit among others.
