CAMP General Alejo S Santos, City of Malolos, Bulacan — Six gamblers, two drug offenders, and two other suspects in different crimes were arrested in Bulacan during the anti-crime drive and swift response of the Bulacan PNP on April 30 and early this morning.
Based on the reports submitted to Col. Relly Arnedo, PD Bulacan PPO, it was stated that operatives of Bulacan’s 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company arrested six (6) illegal gamblers in an anti-illegal gambling operation in Brgy. Moronquillo, San Rafael, at about 12:50 in the afternoon of April 30. The suspects were arrested while caught in the act of betting on an illegal cockfight (Tupada). Confiscated evidence includes three (3) live fighting cocks, five (5) bayong, two (2) boxes intended for fighting cocks, two (2) black sling bags containing twenty-four (24) pieces of Gaffs blade, assorted paraphernalia, and bet money in different denominations.
Appropriate criminal complaints for violations of P.D. 449, “Cockfighting Law of 1974”, as amended by P.D. 1602 (Tupada), are being prepared for filing in court against the arrested suspects.
Meanwhile, joint operatives of Malolos CPS and SOU3-PNP DEG, and Calumpit MPS conducted an anti-illegal drug operation that resulted in the arrest of two (2) drug suspects. Confiscated evidence from the suspects included a total of five (5) sachets of suspected shabu, two (2) pieces of folded paper containing dried marijuana leaves, and buy-bust money.
The arrested suspects and the confiscated illegal drugs were brought to the Bulacan Provincial Forensic Unit for appropriate examination, while an appropriate criminal complaint against the arrested suspects is now being prepared for filing in court.
Moreover, two (2) lawbreakers were arrested for different crimes. They were identified as 1) Edwin Tolentino, 59, of St. Brgy., Poblacion, Pulilan, was arrested by responding personnel of Pulilan MPS for the crime of R.A. 10591 (use of replica gun), threat, and oral defamation that transpired at Brgy., Poblacion, Pulilan; and 2) Alias Ras, 38, of Brgy. Sta Cruz V, CSJDM, was also arrested by responding personnel of SJDM CPS for the crime of Physical Abuse that transpired in Brgy. Sta Cruz V, CSJDM.
Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects are now being readied for filing in court.
